Summer is officially here, which means I’m all about lightening up my work wardrobe. First on the list is this cap-sleeve wrap dress from Lafayette 148 New York. Wrap dresses are probably my favorite thing to wear to work – they are comfortable, versatile, professional, chic, and most importantly, I can sit Indian-style in them. This wrap dress is made out of a crepe fabric, and it’s is one of my favorites. It’s light, comfortable, and it drapes beautifully. Bonus points – the cross top and tie waist are flattering. I paired it with some nude lace-up pumps and this gorgeous leather satchel, also from Lafayette 148 New York. It’s Italian leather and it’s so, so, so smooth. I’m obsessed with it (I also have it in black!). It’s the perfect bag to carry to work because it can fit my wallet, Macbook, court documents, snacks, lipgloss, and the rest of the kitchen sink. The white color is so bold and crisp, and I love the black accents. I’ll definitely be carrying this baby alllllll summer long. What do y’all think?
Ok, now it’s time to talk about the hamptons!
Guess who I saw?! HINT: she’s a major babe, fashion correspondent, and mentor/critic/Tim Gunn on Project Runway Allstars (love that show). She looks good in everything she wears, has some pretty adorable twins, and is just as beautiful in person as in pictures/on tv…
Actually, I saw her 2 days in a row and it was awesome. She had the cuuuutest pink overalls that I’m currently searching for - I’ll let ya know if I find them.
We stayed in Montauk, which is at the “end of the world.” It was a cute little beach town with shops and restaurants all down the main street. It was around 70 degrees when we were there and DEFINITELY not warm enough to swim. We got there on Thursday and rode our bikes into town. Riding bikes is one of my favorite things to do in other cities. We went out to dinner at East by Northeast, which was a good seafood/sushi restaurant. I don’t like seafood (can’t get over the texture ewwww) so I got some veggie sushi and added mango to it, and it was so good. See what I did there? After dinner we went to 668 for a few drinks. On Friday we drove up to East Hampton, which was so cute. So many great shops, I could have shopped there for hours. I did a workout class on the beach Saturday morning with my boyfriend’s dad and sister. It was at 8am and everyone else backed out. We grabbed coffee at Left Hand (so good) and breakfast at Joni’s (also so good but be prepared to wait forrrrever, even if you ordered ‘to go’). Later that day we went to the beach, which was so relaxing. It was only 70 so it was still pretty chilly when the wind blew, but it just felt so good to lay there and do absolutely nothing. We went to dinner at Scarpetta Beach that night. The food was amazing. We ordered a few appetizers and I got a filet and some key lime pie for dessert. I can’t turn down key lime pie. We sat out on the patio and it was definitely chilly but there are tons of space heaters and they give you the softest blankets. Seriously, I wanted to steal one but it wouldn’t fit in my bag. Sunday was our last full day there so we did relay races, which was so much fun. And guess who won? My bf and I! Woo! That night new went out for drinks and dinner. I was exhausted on Monday and we spent the ENTIRE day in a car, but it was such a great trip overall. Definitely recommend it!
