If y’all saw my Burnt Orange Football Game Outfits - Part 1 post, you already know that I bleed burnt orange.
You also know that I had my cheer alumni game last month. It was SO much fun. We had a cocktail hour on Friday night and it was so great to catch up with all of my college buds. We spent so much time together at practices, appearances, games, and just hanging out that these people became my family. It’s crazy to think about how much time has passed since we last cheered together (5 years ahhh), but when we are together, it’s like nothing has changed. After the cocktail hour on Friday we went downtown to 6th street (as usual) and we shut the bars down. Surprisingly, I wasn’t too hungover on Saturday. I woke up and grabbed a late breakfast, then met up with my parents for lunch before I had to go to practice before the game. Yes, they make us practice if we’re going to be cheering at the game. You can sign up and pay a fee to cheer so I cheered for a quarter. It was so much fun. I’ve missed being thrown in the air, and I’ve REALLY missed being on the sidelines of a college football game. The atmosphere is like nothing I’ve ever experienced. If you think it’s exciting being 1 of 100,000+ in the stands, that feeling is amplified by 10000 when you’re down on the field. I STILL get goosebumps when I’m down there. The game was awesome and Texas came out with a win, so it felt just like old times. My body, however, would disagree. I don’t know how I used to do it because my body was hurtin’ after cheering only 1 quarter! It was totally worth it though. I can’t wait to do it again in 2 years!!
Now let’s talk about this burnt orange bodysuit because it is LEGIT. The only (minor) issue is that it’s pretty difficult to wear a bra. If you’re blessed with big boobs, you probably can’t wear this bodysuit. But if you’re part of the IBTC like me, you’re good to go with some petals. To be honest, I shot this look back in August when it was still 1000 degrees outside, but let’s be serious, it’s still hitting the 90s in Texas and I’m not giving up the most comfortable shorts that I own (that are also on SALE!) for anything, even if they’re white and it’s after Labor Day. I love, love, love pairing turquoise with burnt orange. It’s such an unexpectedly beautiful combo. I opted to go with the cutest Boweties and Bourbon bracelets and a turquoise choker from Baublebar. My earrings are Kendra Scott and sunglasses are Tory Burch. And yes, these are my pompoms from when I cheered at Texas. They are ratty and falling apart but I will have them until the day I die. Hope your teams are kicking booty this football season! Xo, AL
